Sidney & Team Low Rider Raise $13,000!

Daily Corgi reader Geri Sterling and her Pem Sidney recently participated in the Paws In The Park 2010 fundraiser for the Escondido (CA) Humane Society. Read the local newspaper’s coverage here.

Geri and nearly two dozen of her fellow Team Low Rider walkers raised a whopping $13,000 for the local shelter, second only to top fundraising team Sweet Pea and Jessie — a group organized primarily by cat lovers. (Hmmm, I think a bunch of “low riders” ought to be able to overtake them next year … no disrespect to feline-kind!)

“Doing the walk together was a great bonding experience and we had a wonderful time. Usually nobody comes even close to the “cat ladies” team, so I think we lit a fire under them and got them to raise even more than they normally would have. They were not going to lose their lead to a bunch of short dogs, but when all is said and done, the Humane Society was the real winner.”

“We’re hoping to come up with a strategy that earns even more money for them next year AND puts Team Low Rider on top!”
