Daily Corgi fan Sherri H., Coordinator at the Pet Therapy Program at Metro West Medical Center in Massachusetts, wrote in recently about her group’s planned participation in an upcoming July 4th parade.
“The pack” (18 people and 10 dogs) will be marching in the Natick, Massachusetts Independence Day parade to raise community awareness of the hospital’s Pet Therapy Program — “therapy on a leash.” They have hopes of some local press coverage — and of course The Daily Corgi will cover it too!
“We are very excited! Nobody has ever done anything like this before. We have made a 3′ x 8′ banner with Katie Bear (Sherri’s Corgi) on one end and a beautiful Great Dane by the name of Libby on the other.”
Dogs signed on so far include:
Katie Bear; Libby, the Great Dane; Mariah and Jacoby – Golden Retrievers; Edward – Pembroke Welsh Corgi (“it was because I fell in love with Edward that I now have Katie Bear. Edward’s real name is Edward Bear); Rocket – a Min Pin; Winston – a Toy Fox Terrier; Bailey – A Rhodesian Ridgeback; Tucker – Mixed ?; and Shane – a Shiloh Shepherd.
This sure-to-be-lively group will march not only with their fantastic banner, but with a car ahead of them blasting “Who Let The Dogs Out?” for the entire route. Sounds like a howlin’ good time to me.
Thanks for sharing, Sherri! And nice to see you again, Katie Bear (who first appeared on The Daily Corgi back in December).
