According to her Mom Janet G., Bella Jo Cannoli (Bella for short) is the Queen of any castle she lives in or visits. “She is a good dog but definitely has a stubborn streak. Bella loves to sit on the front porch or driveway surveying the cul-de-sac for any passing vehicles (most dreaded are the UPS and FedEx trucks), but she saves a lot of her energy to keep the mailman on his toes.”
I supervise. It’s just what I do.
“I frequently find her outside at 10 or 11 at night when I thought she was gone to do her business, but she is just sitting there in the dark and cold watching and waiting and enjoying the silence.”
I know what you’re saying. I just don’t want to do it!
“I got Bella from a local breeder when she was four months old; she is now ten years old. I tell friends that I think she can recognize or associate thirty or forty words. Bella’s streak shows when she refuses to recognize certain words like ‘come’ ! (Ed. note: or is that her “Corgi streak”?) She really doesn’t know too many tricks but will offer her paw when she’s asked to.”
“Her favorite thing to do is to chase a tennis ball or soccer ball. She also has a funny thing she does with a rawhide bone, and I’m not sure where it came from. She really doesn’t chew the bones anymore, but they must have magical properties for her. Wherever I’m sitting she brings it and lays it at my feet and looks so proud about it. When visitors come over, she runs and finds the bone and brings it to them the same way as if saying ”you are special”! However, if another dog comes over, she goes and finds it and starts chewing it up in front of the other dog until I take it away.”
