Baxter spent the day at the vet on Thursday, where according to Anitra he “charmed everyone in the oncology department (of course). There is potential spread to a lymph node, but it’s not enlarged so it could just be allergies.”
Treatment of prostate cancer is more a matter of controlling, not curing. “We will be using a combination of palliative radiation and chemotherapy in order to make Baxter comfortable and give him as long as possible” explains Anitra. “Without treatment the average life expectancy by the time symptoms have appeared is less than a month.”
On the way home from the vet.
“Bax is doing awesome so far!”
A big Daily Corgi high five to Anitra, Baxter, Bryan (Baxter’s Dad), Paige at CorgiPals (she’s behind Baxter’s Helping Paws Campaign) and everybody who’s opened their hearts so far to help in any way they can.
Life is never about counting the days we have left, but counting the life in our days.
Join us today in giving Baxter the very best!
