Each month, the blog earns a small commission from a percentage of sales you make through the amazon.com search box. That’s the little box on the right hand side of the screen. From those commissions I donate 25% to CorgiAid, because … well, you know … you’ve gotta give back!
I’m pleased to report that commissions from your December amazon purchases have generated $75 smackeroos for me to send along to CorgiAid today! That’s money for a rescued Corgi who needs not just human TLC but good veterinary care — and CorgiAid makes that happen every day.
If you’ve never visited the CorgiAid site, drop in today and see what these marvelous people do to give these dogs the lives they deserve, by funding the rescuers’ efforts to get the low-riders “spit and polished” and ready for their forever homes. More than a few Dogs of the Day on the blog have benefited from CorgiAid, and the efforts of all the people it takes to keep it humming.
CorgiPals Founder & CEO Paige Davis with Dexter Jaymz
In celebration of this milestone (the biggest check ever from commissions!), I am dedicating 100% of ALL amazon.com sales commissions in the month of March to another outstanding and worthy organization: CorgiPals. As you know, CorgiPals — founded just over a year ago — is fabulous non-profit that helps individuals by covering/subsidizing the cost of non-routine veterinary care for their Corgis. As a young non-profit, CorgiPals needs to raise funds for their reserve fund, so that they can respond even more quickly to future requests for help from families in need. Please visit their site to see the fine work founder Paige Davis has already done in twelve short months for more than a dozen Corgi families.
When the world has put a banana peel (or two) beneath your feet, coming home to laughing eyes and sweet whiskers is good medicine. Together we can help more people keep their Corgis happy, healthy and in their own homes. Truth is, we never know when misfortune will visit us. This is where our virtual community truly means something, and the goodness in peoples’ hearts has a chance to truly shine by helping — making a real difference.
The beauty of this? You can give just by doing what you’d normally do: shop! And doG love ’em, amazon can spare the money they throw money our way for all the millions they make.
Keep on Corgi-ing on, keep on shopping, my com-paw-dres! I love your spirit, your drive and your dedication to the dogs.
