Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest: Same Bat Channel, Different Bat Day ...

Friends, today was supposed to be the day I posted all the photos for voting in the 2012 Daily Corgi Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest. Alas, there are some mischievous bats in the belfry over at Polldaddy, which I’d been using to build a nifty setup with vote buttons and automatic tallying (read: yours truly not counting beans behind the scenes for the fourth year in a row).

(I do not know this Corgi and cannot guarantee that s/he was not embarassed in the creation of this photo. Doesn’t look like it, though :-).

After 48 hours of wrangling with Polldaddy’s software and getting nowhere (read LOSING DATA — scary! boo hoo!), I’ll need the weekend to post everything the old fashioned way. So the contest will still run: all photos will appear at 6 sharp this Monday morning right here on the blog. Voting will open then and close at midnight on Halloween. Results will be announced on the blog Friday, November 2nd.

This timeline, of course, is subject to the whims of Mama Nature, currently sending an outsized tantrum named Sandy up the eastern seaboard for a destination as yet undetermined. I live in eastern Massachusetts, which MIGHT mean no power in these parts for some of next week. So if there’s a delay of a day or two in the announcement of winners, well … a little suspense never hurt anybody, did it?
