Three year-old Singaporean Pembroke Chester is known within his local Corgi community as “Chester Bond”, because at his first public appearance he was tuxedo-clad and looked very much like the suave spy himself.
His Mom and Dad Sabrina and Robert adopted him in September of 2006. They saw him at the pet shop twice. “He looked so sad in his little cubicle” and nobody wanted to adopt him. (Ed. note: how do you pass up a face like this?!)
Chester is mad about his toys, and always gets new ones when his Mom and Dad come back from their travels. He knows the drill by now …
… the suitcase comes in, the toys come out!
Chester’s Pavlovian response to the sight of a suitcase.
I just know it’s in there, but I can’t wait politely a minute more!
Yay! Bring it on! TOYS!!!!!!!!!!
He gets toys for Christmas, his birthday and holidays too. Here he is surveying his treasures!
In classic Corgi style, Chester is kind of a chow hound.
Here is Chester enjoying the novel experience of a car wash.
He restrains himself but his eyes are WIDE …
Chester loves fruits, particularly papayas.
He is a vegetarian because he is allergic to meat.
On his birthdays, Chester is feted in lavish style by his Mom and Dad. There’s a lot of love in this picture!
Chester is a cuddlebug and cannot be relied upon as a guard dog.
Somehow I think his family is just fine with that.
Every night he gets a regular snack.

He is very attentive towards the family hamster.
It ain’t easy sharing the spotlight, but Chester is a good boy.
At his Corgi friend Cookie’s birthday party, Chester was an early bird guest and reveled in the attention from the human partygoers. Looks like he was loving that massage.

Chester participated in the 2008 Singapore National Dog Walk. Local Corgi people congregated with their dogs in a SOCK — “Singapore Official Corgi Kakis”.
There is a delightful assortment of photos from this event at:
Hmmm, maybe some of those Corgis would like to appear on the blog sometime?
