And I got in this situation HOW? Breezy delivered a beautiful litter of four baby girls on Friday, December 4th of 2009.
Bunny butts at the dairy bar. No boys allowed!
A mother’s work? Never done.
At one week post-birthday, Mom Sarah wrote “After her c-section, she was terrified of the puppies for the first few days, but once she decided the little aliens belonged to her, she became Super Mom. Not a peep from the puppy box goes unattended.”
Yay Breezy! Yay pups!

Breezy’s sister Sydney gave birth to her pups on November 23rd, 2009. At five days early and with a complicated C-section, Syd didn’t fare quite as well as her rival (er, I mean sister). From a litter of six, two boys went home doing fairly well and two survived with intensive care and monitoring.
A groggy Syd.
As you can imagine, it was a stressful situation for everybody involved, made complicated by infection and sickness. Sarah’s crack veterinary staff made a big difference — as they often do!
A wobbly smile of motherly pride.
Sarah notes of Syd that “she has taken to motherhood quite nicely, and I might even call her an over-achiever to the point where I have to tell her to knock it off on occasion. She’d really rather lay on my bed and have me deliver her puppies to her there for nursing, but we’re going to have a talk about that one.”

So … pictures, you want more pictures, right? I promised puppies and puppy pictures you shall have!
Just hop over to Syd & Breezy’s Baby Blog and enjoy the unbelievably cute photo albums, but be warned: you MAY be lured into wanting another Corgi.
Don’t say I didn’t tell ya so.

The Daily Corgi wishes you all the best.

Dear Anonymous,
Sorry I couldn't post your not-so-nice comment. If you've got something sweet to say next time, I'll be glad to publish it!

Hi Andria,
Well, the family line of my girls all have free-whelped. In Sydney's case, the puppies were 5 days early, and one placenta detached, so the vet had to do the c-section.
In Breezy's case, the vet thinks her uterus was stretched so tight, it could not contract.
So it's hard to say, I've heard about lots of sections, but also lots of free-whelping. It might just be that more people have the internet to share experiences now?
Thanks,
Sarah
