… and I am the Founder/Editor/whole production team behind The Daily Corgi.
(Yep, it’s just me).
I’m interrupting the all-Corgi, all-the-time content because I need help. My six year-old Dell PC is slowly riding off into the sunset of the inevitable “blue screen of doom” demise. (In computer-speak, the blue screen is the equivalent of the Grim Reaper).
When I’ve forced my six year-old Dell to work for hours at a stretch, downloading photos, creating daily posts, tunneling out of the mountain of Daily Corgi e-mail, working on the first Daily Corgi Calendar and just generally exercising my editorial duties on it, sooner or later my PC looks something like this. First it runs slow as molasses, then it gets hot and angry, and finally it makes loud, rude noises.
I, on the other hand, seldom make rude noises.
Really, I am a nice lady!
I don’t disturb my neighbors.
I donate to the both the people and pet pantry boxes.
And I create The Daily Corgi as a passionate hobby.
It’s a lot of fun — I get to connect with wonderful people, see dozens of new Corgi pics every week — and best of all, I believe it does some good in the world.
My conundrum is this:
In order to keep The Daily Corgi going and growing (without selling advertising space), I need a new computer. I don’t need all the bells and whistles, just a faster computer that allows me to do my work in about half the time. A computer that works more like the little caboose that could, keeps a cool head and never makes rude noises.
The catch?
Computers cost money, of which I have very little.
I live on a small, fixed income.
I live on a small, fixed income.
Plainly put, I need a new computer and I just can’t afford it.
Is it embarassing, to ask strangers for money for this?
In a word, hell YES!! But if I don’t ask, I’ll never know. So I’m asking. I’m “passing the hat”. I’m doing it because I want The Daily Corgi to remain free of advertisements.
I’d like to keep it that way, if I can. A place for us: you, me and (most of all) the dogs.
If you love The Daily Corgi and want to pitch in (I realize times are tough for many people), whatever amount you can give will be appreciated more than you know. Two dollars, five or ten … whatever you can give will get me that much closer to my goal.
IF you would like to donate and are ABLE to do so, you can contribute either via PayPal (send to my e-mail: thedailycorgi@gmail.com), check or money order. Write me for my mailing address if you need to. Either way, please put “COMPUTER” in a prominent place, so I won’t confuse it with entry fees for the calendar.
If you would like some character references before you decide to donate, I can provide those. Just let me know.
THANK YOU everybody, and Corgi ON!

We'll be sending you money in just a minute. Mum says if things get really tough and you need a 'puter right away to email her your phone number and she'll see what she and Dad can do – he's a retired IT manager and they can probably put something together for you – might not be new but it will work and keep you up to your ears in corgis! We love you lots and lots Laurie and we won't let you down.
Love, Dozer, Dottie and Cooper Edwards
