Cindy McD. wrote to The Daily Corgi about one year-old Cardigan Myko, currently in an Iowa foster home awaiting permanent placement.
“Cute as a bug, Myko is only twenty pounds, very happy and well behaved. No accidents in the house, gets along with every dog he meets and starting to come out of his shell. He is a little timid in new situations and a little unsure of himself at times. Myko loves to chase balls, just requiring that you go and retrieve them to continue the game. His recall and on leash skills are not the best, but continually getting better. Easy to bathe, stands for nail trimming, grooming and easy to give meds to (HW preventative and wormer).”
“He would do best in a quieter home with a routine. Prefers older quiet children and men or women. Small active children might not be the best for him. Stay at home parent or someone who has lots of free time would be best. If left alone for a long period of time, another dog as a companion would be preferred.”
“Loves to snuggle on your lap when you’re watching TV or reading a book. Preference for cheddar and sour cream potato chips, over the plain ones. Loves other dogs, especially those that like to run, play tag and don’t mind a little talking while they play. Myko has been introduced to livestock and ignores the horses but loves to fence chase the ducks with his partner in crime, Pete. Oh and Pete taught him the joys of playing in water too.”
“All in all, he’s a super sweet little dog that will make just about anyone fall in love with him.”
If you are interested in Myko, please contact the CWCNRT for an application and more information.
(Ed. note: there are currently several other Cardis available for adoption on the CWCNRT site, including some lovely older dogs in California and Texas).
