Merlin and Molly T. of Portland, Oregon found Dory (Dorio) and brought her home at ten weeks old.
The face of determination!
Now four years old, they wryly observe that Dory is “the smartest dog we’ve ever known, which is a mixed blessing.”
“Because she spent her first years going to doggy daycare while we were at work, she is extremely sweet and passive with other dogs.”
“Dory is a healing dog who knows when people are hurting, and she lies on them for comfort.” (That’s Dory on the left, waiting for her turn to schnoozle Dad).
“She’s a lap dog who loves to snuggle, but she’s always up for a three to six mile daily hike, playing Chuck It, or just fetching. Next to playing, Dory’s favorite activity is eating.”
Look at those high-voltage smiles!
“We adopted our Fluffy Oliver at age one from a home that didn’t work out in North Carolina. We flew him out and he arrived very scared. In addition, his health needed a boost. He didn’t like to be pet and he chewed up all of our furniture and bit us often.”
“Oliver is now three and a half, and after many years of love he is our goofy, silly, busy “Buddy”. He loves to be pet, and he no longer destroys furniture or bites.”
“He is very attached to Merlin, and every night he falls asleep on his chest while we watch TV. Oliver’s favorite activity is also playing Chuck it fetch with Dory who taught him how!”
Stick with me kid, I’ll show you the ropes.
“He loves to dig, chase squirrels, suck on a flannel ball or “woobie” and close his eyes as if it were a pacifier for hours on end. Oliver will take food right out of your hand while you’re eating; in other words he’s a perfect Corgi.”
“It’s exhausting being Dogs of the Day! All that attention, all those paw-tographs … “

Absolutely adorable! I just love reading about those that rescue these sweet dogs and give them a second chance.
