Winnie celebrated her second birthday last week with a trip to the pet store and a herding session in the backyard with her new Jolly Ball. Happy belated birthday, “fluff-nugget!”
The talented Winnie has written her own story, so without further adieu …
“My name is Winnie. It’s short for Windsor. My human Dad picked it out because he loves all things British which works for me, I’m Welsh, and favored by the Queen! My human grandma made me this great pillow with my name on it after I was old enough not to chew it up. Chewing is my favorite thing but I stick to rawhides and rubber toys, now.”
OK, I chewed one little hole. Shhhh.
“Over the holidays, I joined Mom and Dad on a whirlwind Christmas tour, hitting three cities in five days.”
Life on the road … it ain’t easy being a star!
“At Grandma’s place, a certain uncle discovered my soft spot for hamburgers delivered under the table.”
I’m pretty sure Mom didn’t notice.
“I was born in Monroe, Michigan to a red-headed Pem Mom and tri-colored Pem Dad. I think I’m the perfect blend of each! (The rest of my brothers and sisters looked like Panda Bears, but not me! I’m the one with almost no white in the middle). My person came and picked me out when she saw how nice my parents were, and when I was old enough I made the trip to my new home.”
“I’ve come a long way from those floppy-eared pupper days.”
“My Mom Amy loves me so much. I rest my head on the chair and keep her company while she works at the computer. Sometimes she takes a while but I know there is an adventure right around the corner!”
“I love to go to the beach. The water can be scary, but I always make new friends.”
“Speaking of friends, here I am with my best friend Miguel. He retrieves the ball … but then my herding instincts turn on and I retrieve him!”
“Sometimes I get to go for a romp in the woods. I take a backpack full of tasty treats and a special folding water bowl.”
“My humans and I have graduated from obedience class. I’m a smarty pants and like to do things my way. For my first birthday I got this leather collar and leash. Do you think it’s too grown up? I knew I was ready to roll with the big dogs!”
“I can’t wait to see what the new year brings. More adventures for sure!”
Keep up with me at my blog Herding The Corgi.
p.s. Here I am in my favorite summertime spot in house. When it’s really hot, I enjoy the AC. I’ve been known to stay here all night.
“Hey, finders keepers right?!”
Enjoy my peanut butter video!

A real keeper, that's for sure. Our days became brighter and happier when we filled our home with two tri's. I'd love more, but hubby said he'd leave…to make room, I guess? Hmmm, how considerate!!!
