I used to be an “outdoor dog” until my humans gave me up. I liked to run free outside, but they didn’t take very good care of me and I ended up with heartworms. They gave me away to a rescue.
I’m not so sure I like being in a rescue because so far; it’s not as much fun as when I was an outdoor dog. The rescue people took me to a place that operated on me because they said I needed to be neutered. Then they gave me shots that hurt, but they told me they had to do it for my own good because of the heartworms.
On Friday the 13th, I had a really unlucky day and somehow ruptured a disk in my back. Now my back legs don’t work and I can’t walk. The rescue people told me I have to rest and stay in my cage until mid-June now, to give my back a chance to heal. They say I might not ever walk again, but I know I’m going to TRY… as soon as they let me! I might have to get a doggy wheelchair to help me get around, once my cage rest is over with.
I know dogs in carts don’t find new homes as easily as “normal” dogs so I thought I’d write and send some photos of myself so you can see how cute I am, even though I can’t walk. My rescue friends say I’m very sweet and happy-go-lucky and very deserving of a loving home and I agree with that, for sure!
The rescue people say I need to have a test for DM (degenerative myelopathy); if I don’t have DM, it will make it easier for me to find a new home. Can you please help by donating towards the cost of the test? I also need a sling so that my new family will be able to bring me outside to potty; all I need is $125 to pay for both the DM test and the sling.
UPDATE: The money has been raised in no time flat, THANK YOU to all who gave!!!
As I said, I am available to a very good home. Right now I’m living at the vet’s in Northeast Tennessee. If you are interested in welcoming me to your family, I’ll be here waiting for you! To learn more about me, email dihamelin@comcast.net and she will get back to you.
Thanks from the bottom of my big Corgi heart!

I posted about this on CorgiPals as well a few days ago. When I first saw Trigger I cried because he's so handsome and hasn't been dealt a very good hand so far. I just donated $25 even though we reached our goal already, just in case he needs extra money for something else. I will link to this post on CorgiPals as well. What a wonderful boy he is, I just love him.

My heart aches for poor Trigger. I tried to donate and it won't let me. I see that the money has been raised PLUS some! WOW – I sure hope someone finds it in their heart to welcome this poor guy into their home. If I didn't already have two I would take him in a heartbeat. I want him.
I will say a prayer for you sweet Trigger.

I am so lucky to have decided on the Welsh Corgi breed when I got my very first dog 20 years ago. Not only have I been blessed by the love of my adorable Corgis, I am also blessed because Corgi PEOPLE are the BEST! Thank you all so much: from me and from Trigger. Hugs,
Di
