When Yorkie came into Pam C.’s life sixteen years ago, he was a puppy who’d been left abandoned in a field.
“While I was on a trail ride with my other boy LB (Yorkie’s big brother — a horse), we heard this whimpering in the field. We checked it out and there was Yorkie in a small cage, about 3 – 4 weeks old. I took him out, put him in my jacket and headed back to the barn.”
“When I took him to the vet to get him checked out, he was so weak and hungry. My vet said if I hadn’t found Yorkie, he wouldn’t have made it through the next 24 hours. Once this pup had my heart I just had to convince my father to love him, so I brought Yorkie home and basically laid him on my Dad’s lap. Now I can’t separate them! He loves my Dad to death.”
“When my Dad goes hunting, Yorkie has to go with him. He doesn’t like the gun but he loves to track the deer, and he’s very good at his job!”
“If he’s not helping my Dad, he loves playing with the horses and sometimes walks his big brother. Yorkie guards his 11 acres of open land and only lets certain animals enter. The rest he chases away, except for one wild turkey. I think Yorkie has met his match.”
“We have a Polaris we call the Yorkie mobile; you can’t ride it without giving him a ride first! How spoiled is my dog?”
“I dont want him to worry about anything, and I think he knows that. Yorkie is just enjoying life the way I want him to.”
