Adoptable Harry of Texas: Photo with his new Mom!

Sandy G. of the Humane Society of  North Texas has just shared this pic of Harry (the “police” Corgi) and his new Mom, Ashleigh. 

It was taken last Saturday when Ashleigh drove from Houston to pick him up!

GOOD NEWS UPDATE!

According to Sandy G., Harry has found “a perfect Corgi home with a wonderful lady, has another Corgi, and her father is a police officer, so they loved the pics!”

Sandy sends out thanks to to Barb with Homeward Bound, Nelda Corbell with HSNT, and Lou Guyton and several folks from south Texas who pulled together to get Harry on his way to LIFE!

Go get ’em, Harry … lay down the Corgi law!

Sandy G. reports:  “Harry was on the euthanasia list at a southwest Texas animal control shelter. Several rescue agencies pulled together to get Harry pulled from the list in time, then pulled from the shelter and then transported back to Dallas-Fort Worth, where he’s now learning how to be a “police dog.” 🙂

“Two year-old Harry is vocal, active, prefers to stay busy, and also is typical of many Corgis in that he is toy-possessive and food-bowl possessive.”

“He gets along well with his housemates, Fergie (a spayed female Corgi) Maddie, a spayed female heeler, and Buck, a neutered male yellow Labrador. We think he would do great in a multi-dog home, as long as other dogs are not dominant. He doesn’t seem dominant, but he is certainly confident!”

“Harry has ignored the adult cat in his foster home, but is fascinated with the new kitten and stalks her everywhere. He’s never indicated he would hurt her, but he is persistent about stalking! He is neutered, heartworm negative, does super good in a crate (even sharing his crate with Fergie).”

“He may not be for the first-time Corgi family, as he does need some education about who needs to be pack leader — perhaps why he was owner-surrendered to the shelter — but Harry is one of the happiest little guys we’ve rescued lately!”
