UPDATE: Rescued male Corgi mix Kory — good news update!

7/17 EXCELLENT NEWS UPDATE on KORY!

Betsy Dunnevant, the Foster Coordinator at 2PawsUp NC Shelter Rescue, writes:

Good news from the vet on Friday:  Kory is heartworm negative!  He had his neuter and vaccines today and came home from the vet’s office on Saturday.  I had the chance to meet him at the vet’s office and his pictures do him no justice at all.  He is absolutely adorable and sweet as can be.

7/13, 11 PM:  MORE NEWS on this little guy …

He’s now got a name (Kory)! 

2PawsUp North Carolina Shelter Rescue has him, and he’ll be available for adoption soon.

Here’s the latest from Betsy at 2PawsUp:

“Kory (previously Cory), is settling in to his new foster home great.  His foster family originally went to the shelter for another dog, but Kory stole their hearts.  He gets along fabulous with their other dogs and cats and is a total love bug of a dog.  He’s already won his foster mom and dad over and I am sure he will have lots of applications once he goes online.  Friday or Monday he will go in to the vet for his neuter, vaccines, heart worm test and microchip and then he can go online and find his forever home.  We would love to keep in contact and let you know updates on him as he prepares for his new life.”

GOOD NEWS UPDATE!

5:00 PM on Tuesday, July 12th:  This dog has been pulled from the shelter. 

There are still plenty of other dogs (and cats!) at this shelter needing homes.  Have a look and see if any of them is calling your name:

Until the day when there are no more discarded pets needing homes, EVERY life-saving adoption matters.

Save a life … it might just save your own!

p.s.  This shelter has a “wish list” for donations.  It is fairly basic.  If we can help make the animals’ time spent in their care more comfortable, that counts for something and I’ve no doubt the staff would welcome it.

Described as a male Corgi mix, at Harnett County Animal Control in Lillington, North Carolina.

According to the information posted by a Daily Corgi reader on my facebook page:

“He must be adopted by somebody who will walk into the shelter and take him by Tuesday.”

I also understand that this WEDNESDAY is his scheduled PTS day;  if he isn’t pulled by 7:30 on Tuesday night, it will be too late.

There is a non-profit volunteer group called Hope for Harnett that works on behalf of the animals there;  their facebook page is HERE.

I have no further information to post at this time.

Please note:  Publicly criticizing shelters or Animal Control staff on The Daily Corgi won’t make working to save the dogs any easier, and I actively discourage it.
