“From the day Dottie was born in May of 2008, Larry and Betsy knew she was the Augi for them! (An Augi is a Corgi x Mini Australian Shepard).”
“With that marking on the top of her head, even her name seemed pre-determined. (Although if she’d been been male, I guess we would have named her ‘Spot’).”
“Dottie is our first little dog. We’ve had Labs and Goldens until now.”
“Her baby years were filled with playing ball …
… pouncing on unsuspecting stuffed animals…
… and of course, power naps.”
“Hiding the gifts before Christmas? Hah! Dottie follows the ‘2 fer’ rule. “2 gifts fer Dottie, 1 fer Mom, 2 fer Dottie, 1 fer Dad, and so on …”
“Our girl is a ‘born and raised in Wisconsin Augie’, and that means lots and lots of snow. She likes to think there isn’t any snowdrift too tall for her to climb.”
“Maybe … but this one gives her a challenge!”
Here’s a short video of her cross-country skiing last Winter:
“Definitely more snow than Dottie!”
“She’s now three years old and (cough, cough) 21 pounds.
(Let’s face it, all girls lie about their weight).”
“Her favorite toy is the red ball. All you have to say is “Dottie, would you like to play Red Ball?” and she’s out the door.”
Waiting for the red ball to be thrown.
“How can a small dog retrieve such a big ball? Check out this short video, but be warned: “Red Ball” is not a quiet game!”
“Red ball not handy? No problem. ”
“Dottie will find a tennis ball and wait for you at the back door!”
“Our Augi has long suspected she’s descended from royalty. Watching the ‘King’s Speech’ convinced her of it.”
“Now her day is filled with the demands that come with someone of her stature. Here’s the princess in a photo shoot with one of the peasants (her sister Sochi):”
…we’ll get one of these.”
(Ed. note: Is that the royal raspberry?)
“Dottie has become one of the family, a third sister to her humans Steph and Allie. Whenever we travel, friends and relatives ask if we’re bringing her along.”
Have Corgi, will travel!
“We never knew how much love and attitude could be packed into such a small body!”

Dottie, you are adorable! I loved viewing the "red ball" video and I made sure my sound was turned down since I'm at work (on my lunch break). Many kisses to you!

Dottie is a beautiful girl, who apparently lives in a household full of beautiful girls. I love how these little vignettes give us a tiny window into households in the World of Corgum. In this one I see an astonishingly gorgeous family living a rich and happy life. It is so generous of you to share and make us smile. Thank you
