“When my Moms told me that I would be featured as Dog of the Day on the Daily Corgi, I was SO excited! I’d like to tell my story in my own words because I’m not sure my Moms would get it right.
And away we go … barOoOoOooooo!
My name is Maggie May and I live in Reno, Nevada. My Moms had an Australian Shepherd named Sierra before I was even a twinkle in my doggie mom’s eyes. They decided “working dogs” were for them, but really wanted someone smaller the next time. Corgis like me (big dogs in a smaller body), are a perfect fit! Fortunately, when the time was right, my Moms were introduced to a breeder close to town.
They met me with intentions of “checking out the puppy”.
Yeah right, Moms!
At our first encounter, I wandered out from some bushes, walked up to Mom Kath and flopped on my back for a belly rub. Mom Joy handed over the cash right then and there. Corgi belly rubs are irresistible for everyone involved!
First day in my forever home was awesome.
I met my big sister Dakota who “showed me the ropes”.
Except for water. I’m not buying it. I HATE the H2O.
Unfortunately Dakota went over the rainbow shortly after I arrived. We all miss her very much.
Then I met my BEST pal Shasta. She keeps me clean and sleeps with me and plays with me all the time. She can’t really help it, she’s a kitty. I think it might be some kind of birth defect.
Who says this awesome play house is for kitties only?
Moms try to get good “holiday pictures” of me, but I’m no supermodel.
I enjoy eating noms too much for that!
I like to camp and hike!
I didn’t really like getting sap in my toes until my Moms discovered that peanut butter was the cure. Now I get sap in my toes every chance I get. Yippie! Peanut Butter is my all time favorite nom!
I like to watch football with my Moms on Sunday. I just wish they liked a better team. They like some team called “The Sucks”. Huh?
This is me patiently waiting for a score.
About a year ago, the Moms decided I needed a doggie friend, so they rescued my sister Zoey. She’s supposed to be a Corgi (like me) and Daschund mix, except I don’t see any Corgi or Daschund in THOSE spindly legs.
Oh well, we’re not all perfect.
I LOVE LOVE my sister. Moms say we’re two peas in a pod!
Sometimes we add Shasta for THREE peas in a pod!
Shasta thinks she’s in charge because she has Laser Beam Eyes. OK, she can be in charge. Spoooooooky.
All in all, my life here is perfect! And my Moms love me dearly. Guess there’s not much more to say except “the end”.
Get it? “The End”?
