Hey hey, it’s Lucky of Minnesota! His foster Mom Anitra calls him Happy Go Lucky, or Ducky, for short. “And short he is, just like we like ’em.”
“Lucky, like every rescue dog, has a story, but he wears it well. He was part of a hoarder surrender in southern Iowa, to Animal Control in a town that has no physical building. He was one of 24 dogs who lived in individual pens outside. There were 14 more in the house. Thanks to the efforts of a hard working staff member there who networked these dogs like crazy, I was able to send our volunteer Chris W. to Iowa to get him and foster him temporarily for a few days before he could hop on a transport to Minnesota.”
“Despite his upbringing, Lucky is a natural at dancing (shhh, don’t tell the doctor), and loves to lay in his crate and squeak squeak squeak his squeaky toy. He is advancing rapidly in his snuggling class and learning how to wear clothes, like every good Corgi should ;). Of course, what better for his first fashion statement than to represent the best the internet has to offer, The Daily Corgi :).”
“Lucky will be available for adoption at the end of March. He has to wait 4-6 weeks to be neutered in order to assure that he is healthy enough to have the procedure. We’ll get his teeth squeaky clean and shiny white, fluff him up, dress him up, and send him merrily to his forever home! And folks, I’m going to be pretty attached to him by then, so I’m going to make sure that his new home is the absolute perfect fit. He deserves it :).”

I'm in Georgia, but if I were in one of those other states, I would scoop up this super cutie in a heartbeat. Keep us posted on his adoption.

You have no idea how much I suddenly wish I were in the market for a dog.

I wish I lived up there too Lois! I would grab this boy in a heart beat. I lost my girl Daisy last Summer. We still have her brother Rosco, but do love to have a pair of Corgis. Not to mention lots of humans to give some love, a big backyard and a warm home. I hate it that he was kenneled all that time outside. What good is having all those dogs if you don't have them around to love you.

Good luck! Let us know!

I would come get him too. My Griffen and I miss our Bridgett, and really would love another Corgi. Unfortunately, we are in Virginia.

Such a good looking boy. Would be a perfect brother for my Corgi girl. Its a pity that I am living on another continent.
Good luck, Lucky!

Lucky is a looker. Wow! I don't blame you one bit for being picky on his forever home. He sure is adorable and I hope he finds his forever home soon.

For those of you that are interested in Lucky but do not meet the residency requirements, there are a plethora of available rescues constantly trickling through the Corgi Rescues of America facebook page. Virginia, New York, Georgia, I have seen all of those states on there in the past couple of months. I hope that helps and happy searching for your new best friends 🙂
