In mid-February, radio station WSRZ 107.9 in Sarasota (Florida) announced a photo contest for Valentine’s Day. It was called Show Us Your Heart, and required photos with some sort of heart represented in them.
Daily Corgi reader Bob Marotta had the perfect entry — this picture of his feisty boy Spark Plug.
He surveyed his (and Spark Plug’s) facebook friends about whether they should enter this picture of Spark Plug, and of course they all said yes!
“We posted the link on his page and requested that everyone vote for Spark Plug, because if we won, we would donate the winnings to CorgiAid” writes Bob. “The voting ran from February 12 to 24, and on the morning of the 27th, I was at work with the radio on when they announced the winner — it was me! A minute later my phone rang and I was interviewed live on the Jones and Crane Show.”
“A week later the check arrived, and I sent the money straight on to CorgiAid soon after.”
“The Corgi community’s involvement made this win happen. Without all of Spark Plug’s friends it couldn’t have been done, and for that we thank all of them! We’ll continue to think of fun and exciting ways to raise money for our favorite charity.”
A big Daily Corgi four paw salute to you guys, Bob and Spark Plug … that really IS quite a butt!
