Fizzgig is my Lindsay S.’s first Corgi, but she has already spoiled her for life.
“My dream is to become like Queen Elizabeth and have a complete herd. I can’t think of anything better!” (Spoken like a true Corgi Convert).
“She came into our lives as an eight week-old puppy in November of 2008, about a month after we got married. We weren’t ready for kids, so we decided to start out with something cuter. In fact we’re still not ready, so maybe we should think about getting more puppies. Hmmm … ”
“Right away, Fizzgig proved that not only was she adorable beyond human comprehension, but extremely smart, easygoing, and loving. We barely had to put any work into house-breaking her, and she adapted immediately to sleeping in her crate all night while she was very small. (Of course now that she’s older, she sleeps in bed with us!)”
“She did, however, have a lot of fun chewing apart various parts of the house as a puppy. Linoleum tiles, plastic window shades, the couch. Oh, and the walls. That one was difficult to explain to the landlord when we moved.”
“When my husband and I moved across the country, we went on a 30-day road trip and took her with us everywhere. I think Colorado was her favorite! She may have short little legs, but she is a hardcore pup and can scale those puny Rockies with ease.”
“Fizzy is the best companion I could ever ask for. She loves cuddles, playing tag, car rides, camping, hiking, other dogs and people, you name it.”
“For all the nerds out there: yes, Fizzgig is named after Kira’s pet in Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal.”
“Her favorite trick is “sit pretty”, which we taught her early on. She’s earned a lot of treats with this trick because it’s so darn cute. Now she does it without a cue from us, when she either a) wants attention or b) sees us eating something that she thinks would be better suited for her. It still makes me melt.”
“Fizzy has managed to single-pawedly change our lives forever. We’re thinking about getting another Corgi sometime in the near future.”

What a lucky family. Health, beauty, adventure! Your family is beautiful. Fizzgig sounds like the quintessential Corgi. And, IMHO, the only thing better than a Corgi, is Corgum! (Corgum being the plural form.) We will be on the lookout for an announcement. Laurie always makes sure that updates on the Daily Corgi Alums are highlighted. As odd as it may sound, we will be awaiting word. Thank you for sharing!

I wonder: does she bark much? Pocket loves camping, but feels the need to bark at every passing camper. Quite a drag.
