Barney Boots, much beloved Corgi among Corgi Nation, has gone to The Bridge. He will be missed terribly, by so many.

All of his friends around the world spent the day weeping the loss of such a wonderful little man. RIP, Barney Boots. We'll never forget you.

Did something happen to barney boots or did we lose him to old age?
Laurie Eno / The Daily Corgi says
Barney was young. Just four, I think. He sustained very severe spinal injury. His family made the humane but excruciating decision to send him to the Bridge. No doubt he is supervising his farm up there!

I haven't been so upset over the loss of a dog since I lost my own Annie 4 years ago. But we lost her to old age. This sudden shock of Barney Boots being taken affected me beyond explanation. A little Corgi I'd never even met in person. We all looked forward to his posts. It made a dark world a brighter place. I thank Deb Brandenburg for sharing him with us all. Such an impact none of us expected. I have cried my eyes into swollen puffs. My husband even brought me flowers last night 'cause I was so upset! Silly?? No….when something that is good is taken away, it leaves a hole, and we grieve. Thank you Barney Boots for being another little light in the world. Cody had gravy and ice cream last night in your honor. We continue to pray for your mom and dad. Hugs from the Unsell Family in California.

I wasn't familiar with Barney or his posts, but he sounded like such a wonderful corgi (aren't all of them?). I'm sorry to Barney's family for losing him so young and cherish all those wonderful memories/stories.

Miranda,
Fresh tears. I hear you.
That's probably the saddest, loveliest song going. It's the perfect choice for the video. Barney was so lovely, it's so sad that he's gone.
We can't help but love our animals the way we do. They're endlessly lovable.
