Do you remember Mac from his Daily Corgi appearance last Saturday? He’s a 13 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who got adopted out of a shelter by a couple thrilled to bring him home. Mac was one stressed puppy, and had just about given up hope …
… but look at him now! He has already settled in quite happily. His new people are delighted with their sweet and gentle new family member.
It took less than a day for Mac to realize he is truly home with
Nick and his wife Chris. He enjoyed a good night’s sleep, and is getting
to know the family cat. On arrival, he went straight to
the cat food bowls. Rumor has it he may soon be sharing a bed with kitty, who has lived with and enjoyed other Corgis.

Mac wasted no time enjoying the snow …
… his natural talent for making snow angels is impressive!
A joyful, snow-crazy Corgi …
Making his friendly rounds in the barn. Time to go and check out those sheep and that strange looking chocolate thing with the long neck and pom pom head …
In his wake, the animals chatter amongst themselves.
Cocoa to Clover: “That’s the fox I was telling you about!”

Mac is a real “barn vivant”. Although he has little sight and some hearing loss, he seems comforted by the familiar smells of the horses and barn, with a spring in his step borne of an equestrian past. He comfortably settled down in a spot he knew well in his previous life; against the stall door of the Lipizzaner. It’s as though they have always been together.
Mac will have every opportunity to live a long life
now. All he will ever know is the comfort of a family who cares for him like crazycakes.

Granted, I am a little more emotional than usual today, but Mac's new furever home has left me sobbing with joy, and surprise, and wonder at the goodness of Corgi people. Mac, and Mac's new people, your kindness and generosity give happiness to many more people than you might guess. Rebecca & LMPP
