Direct from Corgi Connection of Kansas founder Jeanette DeMars comes the story of little poopster Lambert.
“Lambert came to Corgi Connection from a breeder in southeast Missouri. First of all, they didn’t
tell me he was only eight weeks old. Secondly, they said he had some leg
issues. Imagine my surprise when an eight week-old puppy shows and even more
so in his condition. This lil’ guy could barely walk when he came to the
DeMars Crippled Corgi Convalescent Center.”

Don’t let the sad eyes fool you. I am a lively wee booger! (photo: facebook)
“Lambert is up for adoption now. His general diagnosis
is “congenital malformation of stifles bilaterally.” In other words he
has terrible instability in both “knees” as well as luxating patellas
which means those knees can pop in and out pretty freely.”

“Right now he
is very mobile and will probably will be for most of his life, but he is
a candidate for arthritis to set in with his current condition. He can
run but can’t go up more than one or two stairs. He is not in pain, but
corrective surgery is recommended down the road. At this point, I have one
set of radiographs that could be shared with anyone interested to get
an opinion from their own vet.”

“Lambert was born 11-29-12. There
will be a $100 deposit required for his neuter, in addition to the
adoption fee which I’ll set at $200 since he can’t be neutered yet and
will be “special needs.” He is pretty well house-trained, current on shots, on heartworm prevent
and flea/tick.”
“He does well with other dogs, but can be a pest. A typical Corgi pup!”
