Todd is a special sort of hero. The kind who hangs out under beds, sits on command and requires outdoor potty breaks. This Pembroke Welsh Corgi has saved the life of a brave and generous man, simply by being himself.
Todd lives in Delaware with Lt. Col. John Groth, U.S. Air Force Chaplain (retired). Eight years of bringing America’s fallen heroes home to Dover AFB Mortuary took their toll on Lt. Col. Groth, when his long and honorable service to our country left him struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Unsurprisingly perhaps, Todd has been the most important source of support in Lt. Col. Groth’s subsequent recovery. “I’m a first time Corgi person. You might think I’m kidding that he literally saved my life, but the VA Hospital would tell you it’s true. Todd is an unbelievable family member and friend.”
“At nine and-a-half years old, our Todd is so beautiful. My daughter taught him to salute me when I come in the door in my Air Force Chaplain’s uniform. I’m just grateful for the healing

“I can’t imagine ever being without a Corgi.”
Todd is very handsome!
There's something a Corgi brings in to a home that no other dog does…..amazing love inside these guys!

Amazing and handsome boy!
Thanks to Todd for his service to John – and to John for your service to our country. It is such an important and difficult job you have been doing. Corgis are grace and healing joy in a loving little package!
I do believe that Todd saved your life because a corgi mix dog, Maddie saved mine! I always say she rescued me. Keep up the good work Todd.
