Bruiser was overjoyed to see his Dad David come home from Afghanistan. Ahhhh, Corgi kisses. Does a welcome back get much better than that?
While he was away and missing Bruiser (and his two other dogs), SSG Branning kept himself Corgi Powered by visiting The Daily Corgi blog and facebook page.
David came home to three dogs, including newcomer Chloe. “My wife had just brought her back from Minnesota” says David. “Our girl is precious with her angelic voice, completely opposite of Bruiser.”
“Neither Bruiser or Howie liked her upon her arrival, but she quietly earned the respect of both within a few weeks. At five months she is already the queen of the house. Chloe is the only dog I know who runs a low five minute one mile with me while chewing Bruiser’s leash at the same time. It’s truly a sight to see!”
Even with one eye, Howie can see who’s taken over. He has helped the Corgis find their sweet side.
“Our love for Corgis has grown, but with all the hair and personalities, three dogs is enough to deal with. I find myself waking an hour early to play with them before I leave and tend to them once I return.”
“My three dogs are more than pets. Their lovable ways help me deal a lot with the hardship a tour brings. They continue to heal my invisible wounds, and I am forever grateful for that.”

SSgt, as a veteran myself, I can agree that dogs are the best medicine. Our two JRTs and new corgi puppy have been my saviors through my transition home. And every time I come home I'm amazed at their love.
Love, thanks, and ooh-rah to you and your puppy family!
