Hey Mom, LOOK! I’m on The Daily Corgi! Surpriiiiiiise and happy birthday from me and Dad!
OK, had to get that out of the way. Mom is now busy sending this post to every single person she knows (or kind of knows). Hello people, it’s me (again)!
We are quite the pair, we two. The places we go — picnics and bar-b-ques! I squire her around, and when it’s time to run the fields and swim the rivers or lakes, I am right on it. A town and country Corgi, you might say.
She appreciates my assistance with parallel parking. Try and get a Labradoodle to do THIS. It’s not just about looking cute anymore, is it? Corgis are value-added models — and that’s before the ears are factored in. Oh, and who needs a GPS when there is a Corgi on board? Here we come, highways and byways!
This is the rear bumper that wiggles when she gets back from her trips. I’d rather she not go on those trips (we’ve had heart to hearts about it), but Jackson and Dad and me, we endure. (Jackson is my chocolate Lab brother).
In my off hours I like a nice nap and a good daydream.
When Mom takes me home to North Carolina for Christmas, naps under the big shiny tree next to the giant fire are the best ones. Ultimate upside down Corgi belly chill out time. Can you feel it? It is a beautiful, beautiful thing.
I listen closely to her creative ideas and don’t miss much, except when it’s time for me to come inside at night. Human voices get softer in the dark, don’t they?
When she was planning her wedding, my feedback ensured Jackson and I were a part of proceedings. Leave no dog behind!
Speaking of gets ups, once she made us dress like Chippendale’s dancers for New Years. She had tried to force us to wear them on Halloween, we were having none of it. That night she snuck up on us and before we knew what happened we were male entertainers.
To say I was displeased would be an understatement of near epic proportions.
Despite the rare humiliating moment, Mom is brilliant and I love her in a bonezillion different ways. Slippery sloppery birthday kisses going out to her (remember to clean your screen)!

Well now, this is just extra special. What a great guy you are Winston. Your mom and dad and brother are so fortunate to have you as part of the pack.
