Most Thursdays on the blog, we have one (or more) adoptable Corgis looking for new homes. The reason any of these dogs have a second (or third) chance is the people who run and volunteer with the rescue groups. For no money, much time given, and the constant risk of major heartbreak, these tough souls with tender hearts are my kind of heroes!
So it’s good to see them and their friends gather every now and then to celebrate what they do. To have the fun they — and the dogs they love — so richly deserve. And (this never stops) do a bit of the critical fundraising that keeps their work — and the Corgis — alive.
Today’s post first appeared here back in late 2012, but it still passes the sniff test. Enjoy, and please support rescue!

On Sunday, October 21st, 2012 Arizona Cactus Corgi Rescue and friends gathered for their Fall Picnic and Fundraiser. From the looks of it — what a palooza! Thanks to Doug Klassen (Gromit and Sparkle’s Dad) for the fantastic photos. See the rest of the set here on flickr.
Keep up with this busy Southwest crew at their website and facebook page.
