On June 28, 2014, the Kentucky Corgi Meet-Up group convened for their inaugural get-together.
Roughly twenty-two Corgis (four Cardigans, one Corgi mix, and seventeen Pembrokes) and their humans (with some non-Corgi siblings) met at Wellington Dog Park in Lexington for a few hours of frapping and Corgi camaraderie. While most of the low-riders came from Central Kentucky, one couple travelled from Nashville, Tennessee to join the fun!
The Kentucky Corgi group, originally formed on MyCorgi.com, recently launched their own Facebook page, to plan future meet-ups and share event photos. Feel free to join!
Rain or shine, this spirited crew was prepared with pop-up tents and umbrellas. Everybody went home with a prize, from tennis balls to Corgi zipper pulls, leashes to frozen pup yogurt, thanks to donations from local companies All Leashed Up, Neogen Animal Safety and Porter Productions.
Gotta love a cool doggy-themed prize!
The group is already chatting about a date for the next meet-up and invites anybody in Kentucky to join them! They want to make this an annual (at least) event.
