Thursday #Corgi Adoptables: Max's Happy Tail Story!

It’s an all too common story nowadays. Someone is forced to give up their beloved pet because they’ve lost their home to financial hardship.

The last thing in the world Max’s owner wanted to do was give him up. She brought him home as a young pup and had him for nearly seven years.

Earlier this year, she contacted Corgi Connection of Kansas for help, when it became clear she could not keep him. Luckily, CCK had an open foster home ready to welcome Max until he could find his forever family. This handsome boy first appeared on The Daily Corgi back in June.

Foster family David and Sandra, new to the world of Corgis, hosted Max for eight weeks. They got this big guy down to 42 pounds from 50, on a regimen of daily walks with his foster brother Gus. The pair had their own fenced backyard to run in, and got extra exercise chasing the neighbor dogs up and down the fence.

Just as CCK was getting a bit worried about getting Max adopted, the right application came along from Dannae, Chase, their son Coi, and six year-old Corgi Hannah.

Following a whirlwind trip from Lakewood, Colorado to Milford, Kansas, Dannae, her mother-in-law, Coi and Hannah met Max, who was immediately smitten with Hannah. He followed her every move, and properly introduced himself to Coi, as well.

Dannae was pleased that Max and Hannah hit it off, as Max was really a dog for Hannah, missing her beloved ferret pals after they had passed away. Hello Max, goodbye lonely days!
