A third of the U.S. is feeling the winter blues right about now. We need some relief, stat! What better to beat the blahhhhs than a glimpse of some happy Corgis on the beach?
This post is as fun now as it was when it first ran on the blog in June of 2012. I hope you enjoy it all over again, as much I do. The sun, the sand, the promise that summer WILL return … soak it up!

Last Saturday, nearly forty Corgis and their people gathered at Fort De Soto Dog Park in Tierra Verde, Florida for a great big party. As we all know, Corgis + the beach = all kinds of AWESOME!!!
The frap-tabuous gathering was a mega meetup of three regional Corgi Groups: Tampa Bay, Central Florida and Southwest Florida. Katie Ringo, in attendance with her low-riders, reports: “Corgis began arriving at 9:30AM and were still streaming in when I left around 12:30PM. We even had some people travel all the way from Georgia with their Corgis to enjoy the beach with us! The predicted high temperature was 90 degrees, but it felt hotter. My three Corgis immediately began romping in the grass, and after about 20 minutes of play we decided it was time to head out to the beach.”

“Several passersby stopped to ask why all the Corgis were there, wondering whether it was an organized event. Quite a few people took photos of all the Corgis and played with them — even though they didn’t bring one! By the time I left I’d guess we had about 30 to 40 corgis on the beach. There were a few new puppies that had their first experience with the water and some Corgis as old as 11 that had a blast.”
Looks like a little patch of heaven, doesn’t it? Thanks to Katie Ringo and Bob Marotta for the fantastic photos!
