Today’s musical inspiration is Tiptoe Through The Tulips. It’s twee to today’s ears, but in 1929 this is what a lot of popular music sounded like. Tiny Tim put his own version out about 40 years later, but I prefer the un-ironic original.
Knee deep in flowers we’ll stray
We’ll keep the showers away
And if I kiss you in the garden
in the moonlight
Will you pardon me?
And tiptoe through the tulips
With meeee!!!
Ann Foose says
Makes me long for spring, as do the corgis. I’d forgotten what rain in California could be like.
Susan Taylor says
Ah, so sweet. Corgis go with everything!!
Anne says
That was the perfect antidote to a cold, gray winter day! Thank you!
Kate says
I so enjoy your prose and CORGI lore
Laurie Eno says
Thank you Kate!!
