Hellooooooo Norbert and Leila of Lawrence, Kansas!
The littermates on the first day in their forever home.
According to Dad Rick W. “They’re pretty inseparable, except when they fight over who gets to sit closer to me. Tummy scratches can go on for hours if you’ll let them.”
Norbert and Leila are almost four years old.
“Dad, I’ll give you 24 hours to cut that out.”
“Norbert and Leila are kind of neighborhood stars, people will come out to see them when I take them for walks.”
(Like folks everywhere! Who can resist?)
Norbert with a very satisfied (or is that sleepy?) look on his face. Note the paw guarding the rawhide. That’s HIS rawhide, thank you very much.
Norbert is named for Broadway actor Norbert Leo Butts.
Leila, looking relaxed but no doubt hearing every last sound in the house.
She’s named for Leila Mengüç,a point guard on the U. of Kansas women’s basketball team a few years ago.
“They love to be outside, and to stir up a ruckus with the neighbor dogs.”
Inside, they turn Dad’s La-Z-Boy into Fort Corgi.
VICTORY!
Classic Corgi story: “One time, they escaped from the back yard while we were out to dinner. I found them sitting in the back seat of a police car. They were apprehended in the ice cream aisle of a nearby grocery store. The policeman could barely stop laughing.”
Now THAT is totally Corgi.
