GOOD NEWS UPDATE!
Thursday 9/23 at 4:00 PM EST:
Just heard from Jen on the AWF’s Urgent Dog Team that Martina “will be meeting two terrific applicants on Monday and is confident she will find a forever home with one of them!”
* * * * *
According to her PetFinder listing, Martina was picked up as a stray in Jones County. She needs to find a home — rescue, foster or permanent placement — by September 24th or she faces euthanization.
She was found wandering alone on the highway. (Now that just ain’t right!)
Martina is about a year old, and clearly as cute as as button.
Please contact The Animal Welfare Foundation of Iowa: jenotfas@yahoo.com or awfiowa@yahoo.com or call 319-480-0945.
Cross-post, share, pass along so others can know about Martina!

Oh my gosh! If you hadn't said it, I'd have thought she was my Amy. That is Amy's serious face and those are her eyebrows. Amy's first litter is about Martina's age by now, too, so *heartstrings tugged*.
I certainly hope these places all check their dogs for microchips. I wish they could check DNA too, but I know the money isn't there. I wish it was. 🙁

If I had the money to fly her here to Tampa, FL I would foster her (we have a corgi boy who is good with other dogs), but I have no dinero.
Maybe you could send the link to Sunshine Corgi Rescue here in Florida to see if they have ANY contacts with other rescue organizations in Iowa? You never know. I posted this to my FB page – hopefully we can help find this beautiful little girl a safe place to land!!

Meagan,
Thanks for reaching out.
Would you be willing to get in touch with Sunshine Corgi Rescue in Florida directly about this, since you'd be willing to foster? Here is the page with their contact information:
http://www.sunshinecorgirescue.org/contact-us/
I understand that Lakeshore Pembroke Welsh Corgi Rescue does some work in Iowa:
http://www.lakeshorecorgirescue.org/
According to that site, their intake and transport coordinator is Nancy, available at pwcorgirescue@gmail.com.
I don't know much about rescue, but I am all for it! If you make any inroads on behalf of Martina, please let me know.

I sent a note to the address above and let them know that I'm in Iowa and would be willing to foster…I know she has some interviews pending but at least they have my info "just in case"… better late than never right? :o)
Laurie AE says
Qweenie, I agree — better late than never — and you really don't know what will happen between now and Monday in the lives of these potential adopters. Things may not pan out for them, for one reason or another. To have a foster contingency can't be a bad thing. Thanks for stepping up!

I was gonna try to adopted but I had to ask my landlord to have another dog, I could have but she would have rise up my rent and I couldn't really pay what she was gonna rise it to :(, But I do hope she will have a home
