Fred and Lily are nine year-old Pembrokes living in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with their folks Liz and Steve M. The family goes boating out of Perryville, Maryland, where the Susquehanna River enters the Chesapeake Bay.
“Seasoned deckhands Fred (aka “Freddy Bumbles”) and Lily (aka “Lily Dawgins”) enjoy meeting other dogs and lots of people at the marina, where they happily serve as official greeters and goodwill ambassadors … “
… but nothing is better than being on the boat getting ready for a walk or a trip to shore!”
According to Liz, “Lily is a very sweet, polite little lady. She was three years old and had been a breeder’s dog who had been a mommy two times before she came to live with us. Everything was a new adventure for her, since she had spent a quiet life in a country kennel.”
“She adapted quickly and is now quite the hunter.”
“As with Fred, exploring the beach is Lily’s favorite thing to do. Usually, Fred plays ball and swims while she digs a nice nest under a tree and watches.”
Fred is a “rowdy, curious boy and a real clown. He was four months old when he came to live with us.”
Sunbathing!
“This Summer Fred and Lily got to go to Rock Hall. Maryland and then St. Michael’s by boat. In Rock Hall they went to a restaurant that was dog friendly and got to sit under the table and have french fries. In St. Michael’s they walked down Main Street very early in the morning. The marina where we stayed had other Corgis, but they were out on their boat so we missed meeting them.”
“Fred and Lily enjoy anchoring out in a quiet spot on many of the tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay. The minute we are anchored they expect the dingy to take them to shore so they can do some exploring.”
“Fred usually makes sure he’s where he can have a good view of what’s going on. He doesn’t want to miss a thing.”
“Every morning our friend Captain Bill gives Fred a banana. He looks for Bill as soon as anyone stirs on their boat.”
Nice pants, Lily!
“When we stay in our marina instead of anchoring out they enjoy walking on the dog path nearby.”
Hey, don’t forget about me!

Love that last picture where Fred is giving his mommy a good ol' kiss! Liz, Steve, and lil' Lily words can't heal your hearts it can only temporary mend them, only time and memories can. Fred was a wonderful boy and went to the rainbow bridge way to soon. Frap to your heart's content FREDDIE!
Farewell, Master, yet not farewell. Where I go, you too, shall dwell.
I am gone before your face, a moment's time, a little space.
When ye come where I have stepped, ye will wonder why ye wept.
