Sadie’s the kind of girl who likes to tell her own story, and her Mom Lisa W. was kind enough to take dictation.
Take it away, Sadie!
“Hi, my name is Sadie and I’m a nine year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I started out testing dog food for a large company before my Mom and Dad adopted me. Now whenever they complain about my food obsession, I have to remind them that my first job was in the food industry!”
“I’m still very good at it. Eating, I mean. Sleeping too, naturally!”
“I live in Connecticut and enjoy the Winters. The minute I hit the snow, I’m so excited I run like the wind! We used to live in Nashville, but I definitely like the Northern life better.”
“The dog days of Summer slow me down a bit, but I love to swim. I travel quite a lot, and have been to Tennessee, St. Louis, Virginia, Maine, Cape Cod, Savannah, Louisiana, Florida, and the Berkshires.”
“In Nova Scotia, Mom insisted I wear a life jacket when we went on a ferry. I didn’t need it, though. I tried to tell her but you know how it is with Moms …”
“I dig sleeping, either curled up or completely upside down. What can I say? It’s a talent.”
“I’m rather well known around my neighborhood, where I promenade every afternoon, barking at any and all little girls wearing pink. Can I help it if I want to herd them? The answer is obviously no.”
“Although I’m not into toys, I’m excellent at snouting a soccer ball.”
“I have epilepsy, but I don’t let it slow me down. It’s a good excuse for me to have peanut butter, because that’s what I insist my Dad buries my pills in. Otherwise, I’d just spit them out.”
No peanut butter, no pill. Got it?
“While I enjoy my routine, I’ve got a great sense of humor (I am a Corgi, after all) and am up for anything: rides in the car, taking the train to New York City, or just hanging on the porch.”
“When necessary, I’m skilled at howling to call in the pack (aka the parents). They say there are a few other Corgis in our little town, but I can take ’em or leave ’em. I really prefer humans to hounds, people to Pembrokes.”
“Well that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it!”
