“Llyr is doing well despite his progression of degenerative myelopathy. It has been eight months since he began his journey with DM. Llyr is still doing his twice-weekly therapy sessions at West Chester Veterinary Rehabilitation Specialty Center. I have to thank Dr. Stephanie Finley, Michelle and Cheryl for their wonderful work, guidance and the incredible support they give Llyr and me.”
“His back legs are not as strong and his land exercises are more challenging for him, but his sessions are helping to keep him strong. We are also still doing exercises at home, although some of them are very hard to do without an additional person to help.”
“His daily massages help with keeping him limber.”
“Because of Llyr’s progression of DM he was leaning forward and wobbling from side to side when he walked in his cart. With his new cart he is walking much better and with greater ease! He is one very happy Corgi!”
“Thank you very much to Dr. Parkes and the wonderful people at K-9 Cart Company East! They were able to make Llyr’s cart the day we were there. This was very unusual, and Llyr and I are eternally grateful.”
“Llyr and I continue the journey with DM…. I do get sad if I think too much about it, but Llyr still has an incredible amount of spirit and he is doing well all things, considering. He is enjoying his walks, therapy and visits with friends. I pray every day for Llyr and all dogs and owners that are facing the challenges of DM.”
“Keep the faith, stay strong and enjoy every moment that you have with your special dog.”
“I take a lesson from Llyr and his good spirits. and forward we go! Someday I will be as good as my boy thinks that I am.”
“A very big aroooo to Laurie for all the wonderful work you do with The Daily Corgi! Thank you for asking for an update on my boy Llyr!”

2corgis,
Thank you for your kind comment.
Corgis spread happiness, I just like to help spread it a bit wider! They inspire and delight me every day.
I'm sorry to hear you deal with DM too … stay strong in the faith that you're not alone, and that someday there WILL be a cure.
Corgi Peace,
Laurie
