Positive news to share about Trigger, the brave Pem who came to Little Legs Rescue in May, with heartworms and a ruptured disc that prevented him from walking.

Trigger has since been transferred from Little Legs to Howelling Kennels Corgi and Cattle Dog Rescue. Di of Little Legs reports that she paid Trigger’s final vet bill at their Tennessee vet (Vet Care Animal Hospital in Greeneville) using funds raised with The Daily Corgi’s help via ChipIn and still had money leftover, so she sent the remaining $152.00 to Howelling Kennels to help them with his expenses.
Shout out to The Daily Corgi community for giving to help Trigger! Three hundred smacker-barooos were donated for him in no time flat.
According to his foster Mom, Trigger is going in for microfilaria (heartworm) treatment and is on restricted activity, ’til the vet deems him ready to begin underwater treadmill. He is “doing fantastic with everything and everyone and even went to the Corgi picnic last weekend, where he was a big hit. I don’t think that I ever had him out myself because someone else always had him.”
“I’m going to ask the vet if we can start acupuncture yet or if we have to wait for that too. I’ll let you know how he does with everything else, as well.”
Here’s the BEST news of all: Trigger’s Degenerative Myelopathy DNA test came back clear! The lab results were “N/N with two normal copies of the gene.” Cross this off the list of things this little trooper will have to deal with.

I'm so happy he is doing well! I was wondering what happened to him I hope he finds a fabulous forever home!!! If I was in the position to, I'd adopt him myself!
