Three years ago on this very date, Gimli came to live with Mike and Candy G.
This bodacious fluffer wasted no time in Corgi-fying the household!
Little Gimli had a habit of falling asleep in the strangest of places, including behind the toilet, on top of the springy door stop, and at the bottom of the stairs — with his head perched on the lowest step.
Gahhh! Baby bear!
Candy named Gimli for the dwarf from The Lord Of The Rings books. “I remember watching the movies, seeing the character and knowing in my heart that someday I’d have a Corgi called Gimli.”
“Gimli has more than lived up to his namesake! He’s rough and tumble, he’s funny, he’s silly, he’s full of love and a joy to have around. Not to mention the red hair — he’s got that too. Lots of it!”
“He spends his days dozing downstairs and staring out the front window at “his” street.”
“No one can walk by without Gimli voicing his opinion. We’ve had many conversations, most of which finish with me dying of laughter. He’s a real back-talker!”
“Our boy loves the snow and enjoys romping in the yard, where he digs snow trenches for frapping.”
“A belly tickle and the word “Frappo” are enough to get Gimli racing. In a moment he’s upstairs, downstairs, stopping for a drink before lapping the living room a few times in a grand finale.”
“He loves to pose — so long as there are cookies involved — but only for a few pictures before he’s off again tormenting toys. Gimli’s a busy little dwarf.”
“He’s become quite the celebrity lately! He’s going to be Mr. March in the 2012 Corgi Butts Calendar, and he’s Mr. July in the Corgi Pals 2012 Calendar. He makes regular appearances at Corgified Candy, too.
“Every night when I go to bed, he joins me for a few minutes of cuddling before retreating to his own bed.”
Now THAT’s what I call a nightcap.

Shelley sent me the link! We met when you picked up Gimli, son of Goofy. I have Goofy. I was laughing out loud at your pictures. HE looks so much like his father and chats too! Goofy must have his 10 minutes of cuddle time every night before bed, or there is no sleeping!
