GOOD NEWS UPDATE 10/26:
I’ve met my goal, though not in the way I’d expected!
A very kind Daily Corgi fan/website pro has offered to do the whole job free. Yep, FREE!
For those of you who have already donated, THANK YOU. Check your PayPal e-mail address for a message about the money you’ve sent. If you don’t hear from me, drop an e-mail: thedailycorgi@gmail.com.
Corgi On!

Since I started The Daily Corgi two and-a-half years ago, it’s grown more quickly than I’d have dared to dream.
In the community that’s grown up around this blog, we’ve done some great things: raised money for Corgis in need, helped place a dog (or two, or a dozen) in forever homes, supported one another in the losses of beloved fur kids, created a calendar that generated more than $1,000 for CorgiAid, and most of all had a galloping good time celebrating the best dogs on the planet
By now I can’t imagine doing anything else as fun and rewarding as working on The Daily Corgi, which is lucky because it’s just me here behind the scenes. One woman, one La-Z-Boy, one heck of an obsession with Corgis. My friends and family know me as dog obsessed (in general) and Corgi addicted (in particular), but I suspect they had no idea how deeply the lunacy runs :-).
I love this virtual place, and intend to keep it going — and growing — for a long time to come.
Now that it’s a high-traffic site (40,000 + visits a month!), The Daily Corgi needs a face lift and a far more user-friendly layout. My design skills (wait, I have design skills?) are nothing to write home about, and my grasp of technology is even less impressive. In addition, I hope to get the blog up and going over at WordPress, a more user-friendly, flexible way to blog and share with others. Professional assistance with this, as well as the cost of setting up hosting service, comes at a cost.
A few weeks back on the facebook page, I floated the possibility of asking for donations to get the work done by someone with experience and the right skills. The response was so encouraging! I’ve since done my homework, located the right person, and know what it will cost to get The Daily set up, spit and polished a a self-hosted site.
The content of the blog is NOT changing. If anything, with a better organized layout I can build on topics I’ve only touched on in the past, and feature them more prominently. Things like breed information (is a Corgi the right breed for you?), rescue resources, finding the right breeder, etc.
More importantly, the mission of The Daily Corgi won’t change. Sharing your Corgi stories is the heart of this community, and everything follows from that. Everything.
So I come to you today with hat in hand, asking whether you’d be willing to give $5 towards the future of the blog. My goal is $400, and I hope to reach it. If you wish to donate, you can PayPal me the money at thedailycorgi@gmail.com.
My readers keep me going. Without you and your contributions, there would be no Corgis for me to write about, no Daily Corgi community to engage with, and none of the fun work that allows me to give back in profoundly rewarding ways.
Thank you!
Laurie

I just found your site today. I'm a corgi-addicted web developer (predominately Drupal, which is sort of like a super-customizable WordPress), so let me know if you need any help with this project!

Welcome to The Daily Corgi, where Corgi addicts have no shame about our "problem"!
