UPDATE 2/17! Pippa has reached her fundraising goal!
Way to go one more time, CorgiPals!
Pippa is nearly a year old and has already survived a serious bout with meningitis. This girl beat the odds and is returning to her normal life as bright, loving, spunky puppy.
The bill to save her life was a pretty hefty one for her Mom Kaity, a recent college graduate. CorgiPals wants to help her with that cost, and you can pitch in by visiting Pippa’s page here.

SERIOUSLY??? At 3 I was in a Midwest Children's Hospital with spinal meningitis and not supposed to live, or if I did, I'd be blind, deaf, retarded or all of the above. Thankfully penicillin was "found" and I lived, am fine, tho' allergic to it now (they had no clue as to the amount to administer back then).
Had NO clue animals could get it!!! Holy Cow!
I ONLY hope parents get their children vaccinated, now that there's a vaccine. Back then, there wasn't.
To this day, I've only met one person who survived it. He was a great graphic designer with a wonderful family. The only thing was that he was a bit "slow" and I say this thinking "there but for the grace (of God), go I". My love and major wellness wishes to Pippa and family.

Isn't it crazy?? I had no idea either until she came down with you. She has been doing well for a few months, but is still on heavy steroids and could suffer a relapse. It's extremely rare for dogs, even a vet professor at Auburn University was pretty stumped on how to proceed! Thanks for the kind words. It's sad that her illness brought me to all of these amazing corgi communities, but we're here now!
