Maggie! Why is Maggie smiling? Because Corgi Nation has poured out its heart to her, by way of CorgiPals.
Less than a day ago, CorgiPals founder Paige Davis shared Maggie’s story, the story of a survivor with a big, brave heart. From her early days as a pup who nearly met her end at the barrel of a shotgun to the home she shares today with Mary and Kent, this dolly girl has been “leaking”.
Yes, leaking.
A rare congenital defect left her with a constant piddling problem. Can you imagine dribbling 24/7? Maggie could. Her family tried everything for her, but the underlying problem went undiagnosed until recently. Now she’s got a shot at a cure, a good doctor specializing in the procedure, and the momentum of caring Corgi people behind her.
In these past 24 hours, people have donated $1,455– a full 56 percent — of what she needs for her surgery. WHOA. You folks keep me going with your passion and compassion. Let’s get the rest raised in record time. I’m putting up a Daily Corgi prize package (mug, bumper sticker, magnet), to be awarded to one lucky donor chosen at random from everybody who donates — even $1 — to Maggie’s fund.
GOOD NEWS UPDATE: On Friday, August 10th, Maggie’s Fund reached goal. Thanks to many generous, giving people who donated and shared Maggie’s story with others, she will have her surgery. Her folks are immensely appreciative.
