Good morning everyone, and welcome to my sixteenth weekly guest spot on The Daily Corgi! I am your host Paige K. Davis, founder of CorgiPals. As you know, every week I’ll be doing a guest post to keep you up to snuff with the goings-on in the CorgiPals world. This week’s theme: BIG NEWS!
I have some VERY exciting news to share… but first I’d like you to meet someone! This beautiful girl’s name is Roxy.
Roxy’s mom Celine wrote to CorgiPals requesting aid for the diagnosis and treatment of several kidney stones:
“My 5 year old Corgi is in desperate need of surgery. She has multiple kidney stones and can’t pass them on her own, and has also developed a urinary tract infection as a result. I have pain medications but she won’t take them. She hardly eats or drinks. Since she got her pain medication, she’s been doing pretty well, but she sleeps a lot and I know that’s not normal for her. She’s such a happy, energetic dog and I want her to be healthy again. :(“
I speak (unfortunately) from many, many years of personal experience when I say… kidney stones are TERRIBLE. What most people don’t realize about kidney stones, is that they are not smooth. They are jagged. Which means that as they move through your kidneys, ureters, and bladder, they are making teeny tiny little cuts as they move. The stones themselves are painful enough, but the infections they cause make it unbearable. I hate to see anyone in pain from such an ordeal, let alone a sweet, young, otherwise healthy little Corgi girl. Let’s rally together to help Roxy get the surgery she needs so she can start feeling better ASAP!!
And now… on to the BIG NEWS! Drum roll please…
Since our inception in 2011, CorgiPals has raised over $100,000 for Corgis in need!!
… $100,236 to be exact! On behalf of the entire CorgiPals staff, our past and presents clients, and Corgi Nation as a whole: THANK YOU! None of this would be possible without your continued love and support. You guys keep us inspired, keep us amazed, and keep us going. You are truly the pants to our drummies.
That about wraps it up for this week. As always, please spread the word about our Corgis in need and keep on Corgi’n on!
Oh, and don’t forget… CorgiPals has a company goal that we are trying to reach. We are trying to get our Facebook page to 5,000 “likes” by the end of 2013. We are currently at 3,646 fans! Please spread the word to help us reach our goal! Remember, every person who knows about CorgiPals is one more soldier in our army fighting for Corgis in need all over the globe!
