Good
morning everyone, and welcome to my fifteenth weekly guest spot on The
Daily Corgi! I am your host Paige K. Davis, founder of CorgiPals. As you know, every week I’ll be doing a guest post to keep you up to snuff with the goings-on in the CorgiPals world. This week’s theme: Success Supreme in 2013!
“His white count is down to 27,000 from 35,000. They are suspecting an infection or inflammation of some kind. He has 6 more days of weening him off his prednisone, then we will give him a two week course of antibiotics and recheck his CBC again. Thank you again for all the donations. Cricket gives his love and will keep you posted.”
And theeeen… on January 10 Iggy reached her goal, too! We were able to raise $2,370 for Iggy’s care and Corgi Mom Bonnie had this to say about the good news:
“OH MY GOODNESS, PAIGE! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! She got a puppy bath yesterday and continues to be such a beautiful gift to us. We are so blessed. Thank you!”
Up next is Kali, a new client to CorgiPals as of yesterday. Kali was originally taken to the vet for pain that was believed to be a result of a back injury. What the vet found was much more devastating. Kali has a cancerous mass in her abdomen that has resulted in leukemia. Kali is only 7 years old and was given an estimate of only two more months to live. There is no cure for leukemia. Corgi Mom Kristen has decided not to pursue chemotherapy. She would rather have Kali live out the rest of her days medicated and pain free, and CorgiPals will be paying for the diagnosis and medications for two months in the amount of $505. Kristen and her young daughter are very saddened by the diagnosis, but CorgiPals was able to give them a bit of good news today. Kali reached her goal in only two hours!
Bosco is one of our newest clients. Corgi Dad Mike wrote to me asking for help for his best friend:
“In February 2012, Bosco was diagnosed with severe degenerative valve disease with congestive heart failure. Fortunately, Bosco receives excellent care from MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets and he has been responding well to medications, but these medications and regular evaluations at MedVet are quite costly and have begun to put a strain on our finances. Bosco is a dear member of my family and waits patiently on the landing for me to return whenever I am away. He brings joy to everyone who knows him. I can’t imagine my home without him.”
Bosco still needs $2,222 to reach his goal of $2,500.
As our last bit of business for the week, I’d like to remind everyone of Lucky’s story, which appeared earlier this week on The Daily Corgi. As part of a joint effort between The Daily Corgi and CorgiPals, we are conducting a “Share-A-Thon” on Facebook to help spread awareness for rescue organizations and hopefully find the right forever home for Lucky! Each “share” from the “Lucky’s Share-A-Thon” posts on CorgiPals, The Daily Corgi, or Welsh Corgi Facebook pages by noon (EST) on Friday, January 18 will automatically enter you into a drawing to win a custom-made CorgiPals fleece hat, a bumpersticker from The Daily Corgi, and a copy of the book Barkonomics!
Oh, and don’t forget… CorgiPals has a company goal that we are trying to reach. We are trying to get our Facebook page to 5,000 “likes” by the end of 2013.
Please spread the word to help us reach our goal! Remember, every
person who knows about CorgiPals is one more soldier in our army
fighting for Corgis in need all over the globe!
That about wraps it up for this week. As always, please spread the word about our Corgis in need and keep on Corgi’n on!

Good news, Paige. And to all the brave Corgis facing illness and to their humans, enjoy every moment that you have. Your mutual love will live on forever.

Thank you so much for sharing. I'm the proud owner of two corgi's Boodro and Karma. Along with their side kick Daisy. November 2011 we found out our 6 year old corgi Kenny had leukemia & lymphoma. Our family was devastated. We chose to give him a comfortable and quality of life option. But sadly, we lost him a year ago Jan. 26th 2012. I would love the opportunity to share some great stories about him.
