The Daily Corgi has moved up in the world, with coverage in a widely read business blog! Melinda Emerson — aka Small Biz Lady — is a seasoned and highly successful entrepreneur, professional speaker, and small business coach. She interviewed me recently about my success in growing The Daily Corgi’s facebook fan page; you can read the published article on her blog here.

I’m excited to have my work featured in Melinda’s blog, and equally pleased to share the space with one of my mentors, social media expert and fearless straight shooter Lena West. She is the REAL deal (and then some).
Most of all I’m sincerely delighted to share this news with you, my readers, without whom there would be no Daily Corgi. At heart, this is all about you, your dogs, and the joyful ways they enrich your lives. For me, there is nothing quite as interesting as that. Thank you for being a part of our growing community!

I hope it gets Googled a zillion times! 🙂 Nice accessory (aka Dewi), by the way.

Hey Laurie,
Great article and lots of good ideas. My husband & I have been thinking of expanding the business from just the website to include FB. It's immediacy seems perfect for those small, yet important announcements that you don't want to bother your webmaster with (nor spend the time yourself &/or $$).
Thanks for the great info. Corgi on!

Mary,
Thanks!
Expanding to facebook is a very good idea. People almost expect a business to be on fb nowadays.
It allows for that immediacy that a website doesn't, which opens up great opportunities for customer service.
Once you're on that, you can hop on twitter too! It is another way to communicate with people quickly and efficiently. Don't fear the twitter 🙂
Corgi On!

I love lots of things about Laurie and The Daily Corgi. This article reminded me of one. The Daily Corgi is a small business that acts like it doesn't even know it is a business. So, even though it falls under the umbrella of small business, it is about Corgis, and their owners, and the entire community of Bloggers, readers, and even people who just trip in through the door because they saw a picture of a cute puppy. There are gazillions of sites where I can buy stuff, but The Daily Corgi is a place where I can hang out and hear about my Corgi friends from all over. Laurie makes sure that every post is ABOUT SOMEONE WE CARE ABOUT. Thanks to Laurie and it's denizens TDC is a place, a location, not an ephemeral Internet money making scheme.
