Remember Tucker and the story of his Mom and Dad? This little family lives in Topeka, Kansas without an adequate vehicle to get them all (including Tucker) to safety when those tornadoes come calling. Read their original Daily Corgi post here.
The amazing news? Friends of the family (many of them facebook friends) have since donated $10,000 for the purchase of a van, which the Veteran’s Administration will equip with a chairlift for wheeelchair bound Bert.
This means they can all evacuate to safe shelter together. As it ought to be. Well done, Corgi Nation and all the folks who opened their hearts to these good people in need.
To quote Tucker: “BAAAAAROOOOOOO!!!!!!! Thank youz my
furiendz!! Know one could have better furiendz EVER! You should be
so very proud…cause, you are AWSOME! Dadz getz his van!! Bless each
and everyone one of youz.”

You did it! This is so very amazing, and overwhelming, the love you have showed, Bert, Tucker and myself. What a blessing you all are, and words fail me. How can I express in words, how this will change our lives. We will be able to go to safety, in half the time, and take our precious Tucker with us! Tucker means the world to us, and he has played a very large part in Bert's recovery. When he was fighting for his life, the three months that he was in the hospital, Tucker is what kept him going…he HAD to get home to his dog. Tucker laid by the front door every evening waiting for him, it was a sad thing to watch at both ends. So leaving Tucker behind, has not been an easy thing for us to do, but unfortunately, I had to make sure Bert got to safety.
You beautiful people, have also given Bert, a quality of life he has missed since his strokes three years ago. We used to go to the lake and fish, then get our Dairy Queen , we took Tucker, and had such a good time, just the three of us. Because we have been unable to take the powerchair, we could not get close enough, or a safe enough, place for him to fish. Bert has been very few place in three years, so you all have given him his freedom.
" Freedom"…how ironic that the goal was meant on Memorial Day!
I could go on and on how this will change our lives, but I want you to know, that you all, should have great pride in what you did, and we are blessed, and honored to call you our family of " friends", and our "Angel's On Earth".
God Bless each and everyone of you in abundance.
All our love,
Vicki, Bert, and Tucker (mama, dadz and Tucky).

Laurie, the attention you brought to the fundraiser by sharing Tucker's story made such a huge difference. THANK YOU so much ! We are so thankful for the response of so many wonderful, caring, kind, and generous people. Through this experience we have met some great friends and look forward to staying in touch with all of them. One person put it this way, "The whole Corgi Nation is fun, I feel like now we have friends that we could stop and visit any place in the country. So cool!!" 🙂 Joyce Randall and Wilson Waddlepants

Joyce,
I'm so glad the exposure I gave the fundraiser made such a difference! I just knew this was possible, if enough people found out about it and had the opportunity to help the Corwins.
Thanks to you for setting it up. You've done something so terrific — doG bless YOU!
