Taryn T. has wanted a Corgi since grade school, when she dreamed of owning one named Clementine.
Her wish came to life in February, when Freda “Bunny” Valentina-Trapani was born in Bakersfied, California.
The long drive home from Bakersfield to Lake Tahoe was Freda’s first experience in a car. Today she loves car rides! Looking out the window, watching everything go by, she is quietly content.
“Freda
is my alarm every morning” Taryn says. “I hear her rustling around in her crate,
entertaining herself until I get up. I try to fill every day with some
sort of adventure for my little bundle, hoping to make her as happy as
she makes me!”

“We walk, hike, swim, and bask in the sun. Freda loves getting dirty, which means she gets bathed fairly often!”
“Outgoing and charming as can be, she has many friends, human and canine alike. Freda is always eager to meet newcomers!”
“She
is such a happy and curious girl, enthusiastically going along with
whatever is next. Until, that is, she’s ready for a nap — then it’s
moans and groans to leave her be!”

“At
only 14 weeks, she can already sit, stay and fetch. We’re working on ‘come’. Right now, she decides when she wants to come. Freda
is quite the talker, especially at breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s
sass talk if I tell her no or when I’m tickling her belly. She
loves the ‘coochie coochie coo’ game.”

“Freda has an array of toys and loves them all. She’ll selectively pull one at a time from the basket and demand we play! Our favorite is her good
cuz/bad cuz ball; she goes crazy, running like a mad woman back and
forth and trying to tame the bounce.”

“Sometimes
Freda will sit and stare at what
I’m doing in the kitchen, listening for every unfamiliar sound while
cocking her head. Or randomly get the zoomies and start running around the
house for no apparent reason, just so excited! (Ed. note: frapping!)
Her antics include pulling socks from the laundry basket and running
around the house with them in her mouth.”

“Forever looking into mom’s camera, photogenic Freda’s become quite the showoff,
always ready for her next photo op!”

“She has a faithful following on Instagram (@freda_v). Her face is her most amazing part (her butt the second). Freda has so much expression and understanding in her eyes.”
“Basically, she is the coolest dog ever, and the sweetest! I wonder if all dog owners have it this easy. I am so happy to finally have my dream dog, one who brought light into a dark time in my my life. A good friend was unexpectedly taken from us in February; Freda has served as a comforting little angel, brought me laughter and surprise and occupied my mind. She’s my best friend and the brightest part of my day!”

FREDA the California corgi is incredibly adorable! I just love the picture of her on the Berner's head. Just wanted to say Hi from FRIDA the Massachusetts corgi, who was a Daily Corgi Dog of the Day on April 1, 2010! Enjoy your sweet little girl as she grows up.

A Corgi can lift even the saddest heart…so glad Freda lifted yours! We have two Corgi's, also from Bakersfield…maybe related?
