Meet Abby. At seven, she’s the senior dog and absolute Queen Bee of her household. Don’t let that pretty face fool you for a minute!
Abby’s in charge of her humans Chris and Brian, another Corgi Derek, and two terriers, Chip and Spike. It’s a tough job …
… but somepuppy’s gotta do it!
Chris first glimpsed Abby on a website (then “Dot” for a marking on her head), where the fluffy pup was photographed on a rural Kansas farm. For her it was the proverbial love at first sight, and before long she brought little Abby home to round out the resident Corgi contingent, joining Fergie and Angus.
“It’s Abby’s world” laughs Chris. “We just live in it”.
Mr. Shy Guy Derek came into the picture after Fergie and Angus went to the Bridge. He traveled from a long ways away to help fill the Corgi-shaped space in the family’s hearth. Right from the start, he bonded closely with Brian. Must have been something about that twelve hour car ride home together!
Chris’s search for a pup led them not just to Derek, but to a close friendship with his Tennessee breeder, whom she and Brian now consider part of the family.
Favorite Corgi pastimes include barking at squirrels, nightly walks and snuggling with the parents while TV watching. You know … the good life!
“My dogs are my greatest happiness in life” Chris writes. “I can’t imagine a world without them in it.”
