Catching Up with CorgiPals

Good morning Corgi Nation, and welcome to my weekly guest spot on The Daily Corgi! I am your host Paige K. Davis, founder of CorgiPals. As you know, every week I do a guest post to keep you up to snuff with the goings-on in the CorgiPals world.

Last week we saw something pretty incredible happen at CorgiPals. It was an outpouring of love and understanding the likes of which have never been seen on this level in our little nonprofit. Join me as I take you on a ride on the Corgi Love Train…

Start a love train, a love train! 
The first stop is Hurley Station! After Hurley passed away last week, his Corgi Mom Deborah decided to donate his unused funds back to CorgiPals to help another dog in need, in the amount of $810. Which brings us to our next stop on the Corgi Love Train Express….
Toot toooooooot~!
Next stop is Brittany Station! Brittany lost her battle with cancer back in July 2013. Bills were still looming over Corgi Mom Mandisa’s head, so we kept plugging along on her fundraiser. When Hurley and his mom donated the $810 to Brittany, I notified Mandisa to let her know. Mandisa generously told me that she was able to take care of Brittany’s remaining bills and that she wanted to donate Brittany’s remaining funds back to CorgiPals as well, in the amount of $2,518!! The Corgi Love Train is now departing!

Welcome to Pally Station! Pally is one of the few CorgiPals clients that can say she’s been beneficiary of both the Helping Paws and Baxter Valentine Fund campaigns. This sweet girl has battled cancer, and more recently severe diabetes. Pally’s fundraiser was going well and she only needed $1,867 to reach her goal. Thanks to Brittany and Mandisa Pally was able to reach her goal. But, wait… where did the $651 go? Alllll aboard for our final stop!

Welcome to our final stop on the Corgi Love Train. This is Leelu Station! Leelu is a current client of The Baxter Valentine Fund. She is battling cancer and recently had a tumor removed from her liver. After a generous donation from Hurley, Deborah, Brittany, and Mandisa, Leelu only needs $4,201 to reach her goal.

soldier in our army fighting for Corgis in need all over the globe! Keep

    Paige, I'm a faithful Corgi "lurker" and, from what I've seen, it would appear it's not your "thing" to focus on yourself when it comes to Corgi Pals but I just wanted to ask how YOU are doing lately? While I haven't been touched by losing a parent yet, you often pop into my mind and hope you are doing well. Have a great rest of the week!

    Hi Beth! I'm doing as well as I can. Every day is different and every day brings a new challenge. Some days I cry a lot, some days my eyes only well up with tears that just don't feel the need to fall. Thank you for your kind words. It's nice to know people are thinking about me 🙂
