Exclusive to The Daily Corgi from guest author Gretchen Anderson.
While there are hundreds of Corgis out there still looking for fur-ever homes, we have been asked by Bonnie, of Corgi Connection of Kansas, to provide the following PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT.
Let’s discuss THE FATE OF THE WORLD, shall we?
I think we can all agree that Corgis are resourceful and driven, but frankly, when it comes to SAVING THE WORLD, even Corgis need a little help from their flunkies from time to time (i.e., their staff, “Uprights”, entourage, PAs, “monkeys”, or just “you with the thumbs”).
Here in the Midwest, while awaiting her fur-ever family, Bonnie (a foster with Corgi Connection) has found herself with a little extra time on her hands and has assumed the role of Matriarch d’Midwest, hostess of the 4th Annual Kansas Corgi Gathering.
You may not be aware that in the U.S., Corgis have organized themselves into cohorts by state or by region. And each state and region is required to assemble annually during to exchange intel.
Now, this may just look like FRAPPING to you and me, but, Bonnie assures me that the FUTURE OF THE WORLD could hang in the balance.
But I am just a simple human, what can I do to help my Corgi SAVE THE WORLD?
First off, proclaim your allegiance to the Corgi-cause loud and proud!
You may have noticed that Corgis prefer to take a more grass-roots or ground level approach to world change. They prefer to keep their heads low, feet on the ground, walk the walk, and bark the bark. They spread their message of Better Living through Corgis from one lost and lonely human to the next.
It has been said that those who have accepted a Corgi into their lives will be known by the following: A light dusting of Corgi fur about their person, home, and vehicle. Special consideration will be made for those displaying Corgi fur at work the workplace, as well.
A preponderance of images of the Benevolent Overlords (Bonnie recommends that you pick up one of these CCK T-shirts, for example). If you don’t live in the Midwest, considering having a shirt shipped to you. Trust me, micro-brewery t-shirts are out, collecting corgi-gathering t-shirts from every state is the new BIG THING.
Note: This T-shirt is for those of you who do not actually have a Corgi. It comes in orange for those of you who do. In which case, the wearer/owner assumes sole responsibility for public reactions of “Ooooooooh” (or “squeeeaaallll”), followed by “I love Corgis!” or even “Do you mind if I drop what I am doing to come love on your Corgi?”
